School Gate guardian
Our visitors will continue to be welcomed into our school offices through a camera and buzzer system. School Gate Guardian, a visitor management software program, will now provide an additional security measure for visitors moving beyond our office areas.
The School Gate Guardian program checks each visitor’s ID against a nationally recognized sexual offender database. Beginning with the first day of the 2017-2018 school year, all visitors must present a valid driver’s license or other state-issued photo identification upon entering a school or the administrative center. The ID will be scanned at each visit, and those who are cleared will receive a printed, time expiring badge that includes his or her name and photo before exiting the office. After approximately 10-12 hours, a red stop sign will “bleed” across the badge so that it cannot be reused.
The process to scan an ID, run the check, and print a badge should take less than 1 minute to complete.
